Back before the City of San Antonio struck out on its own with San Antonio Neighbors Together, the Friends hosted an annual National Night Out event every October.  The event was the brainchild of San Antonio Park Police Officer All Ballew, one of our earliest supporters.

Every year the event included

• the Giant Marshmallow Roast
• Sunspot Viewing
• the White Elephant Giveaway
• visits from Park Police, the District 10 City Council Office, and lost of politicians running for re-election
